Our Services - Legal Advice

Contrary to much of the media hype in the UK and other countries about the dangers of buying a property in Spain, it can be a relatively simple process, so long as you ensure you have an experienced lawyer (abogado).

We have experienced lawyers who are well versed in property purchasing and sales for foreign clients. They are English speaking which means you can have direct and intimate conversations with them, although a representative of AntequeraProperties will be with you if you wish it through every stage of the property purchase.

The property deed in Spain is called an Escritura, and this will be thoroughly checked by the lawyer to ensure the seller has the full right to sell, and you are therefore fully entitled to secure the Escritura into your name. Attached to the Escritura is a Nota Simple which is a record of all and any outstanding charges (if there are any) on the property. The lawyer will vet this thoroughly to ensure you acquire the property totally charge free. In this way, although the property deeds have different titles, the process of legally acquiring a property in Spain is much the same as for example in the UK.
